In a Berlin nightclub during the 1930s, a Master of Ceremonies welcomes the audience and assures them they will forget all their troubles at the seedy Kit Kat Club. Cliff, a young American writer, is immediately taken with performer Sally Bowles. Meanwhile, Fräulein Schneider, tentatively begins a romance with Herr Schultz, a fruit seller who happens to be Jewish. Cabaret focuses on the themes of political and social apathy as the threat of fascism steadily rises. Cabaret is rated PG-13 due to adult themes, Nazi imagery, alcohol, and smoking.
